Attachment in relationships
This book and the concepts within were transformational for my wife and I early in our relationship -- and continue to be. The authors emphasize the importance of maintaining awareness in our attachment style and how that influences our dance together. More often than not, we partner with someone who has a different style. Due to the inherent nature of these fundamental differences, we run the risk of stepping on each other's toes. Repeatedly doing so perpetuates disconnection, which is a relationship killer over time. We can, however, practice awareness and build skills around self and other awareness, as well as dealing with negative emotions.
